The cat's pretty pissed, but she'll get over it

I know what you're thinking. "Geez Kristin, it's about damn time you gave me something new to read." You're also probably thinking "sit up straight" and "still carrying that baby weight, aren't you, honey?" since, as mentioned before, only my mother reads this. At least she would. If she could find it. So I actually have a LEGITIMATE reason for taking so long this time, friends. I sat down a couple of weeks ago and wrote a brilliantly humorous post updating you on everything Ryan. This was time that I could have spent proving my worth as a teacher, teaching my son to walk, or catching up on my TiVo, but I managed to find 20 minutes to sit here and talk to you.
I even uploaded an adorable new picture, then clicked "Publish Post" and....
was greeted by an annoyingly friendly message from the blog site explaining that they were unable to acquiesce to my command and would I please return to the homepage.
The entire thing was erased. Needless to say, I was angry at blogger for a while.
Alright, so that really doesn't explain my ridiculous three-month absence, but what can I say? I've been busy. The biggest news lately is that Ryan said his first word this week. He was patting Faustus on the head and he said very carefully, "dog!!" I squealed so loud I scared him and he started crying. Callie's a little miffed that his first word wasn't "cat," but whenever Ryan comes near her, she looks at him like if she had things her way he wouldn't be there sharing her oxygen, so I don't know why she's so jealous.
In other news, our family is just getting over this horrible stomach bug that is so rapant it's made national news. They're finally letting us take the red cross off our door, so I guess that means everyone is pretty much healed.
I just discovered a wonderful new example of irony to teach to my students next week: a blog site whose spell check feature does not recognize the word "blog."
